What to avoid during pregnancy

Getting X- Ray's is an absolute no no as radiation affects the baby's developing cells.

There are a few foods, activities and medicines you should avoid when pregnant.

This according to Mom Junction – who focuses on pregnancy and parenting.

• Raw cookie dough and cake batter should be avoided as it contains Salmonella and unwashed fruits, vegetables as well as under-cooked and uncooked meat. Pork contains parasites.

• Raw chicken and meat.

• A high dosage of Vitamin A could cause a miscarriage or birth defect

• It is not known how much alcohol is too much for the fetus. Avoid it rather.

• Drugs should be stopped whether you are pregnant or not. Your baby will get addicted to the drug for the rest of his/her life.

• Do not attempt to lift heavy objects or weights, it can cause body aches and severe back pain.

• Getting X- Ray’s is an absolute no no as radiation affects the baby’s developing cells.

• Do not smoke, the harmful toxins in cigarettes are harmful to your baby.

• Chemicals at home and in the workplace should be avoided.

• Do not do strenuous exercise, stick to walking, swimming, yoga or light exercises.
