Bekkersdal Police are investigating a brutal crime after the burnt body of a young man was discovered in an open veld near Waterpan in Westonaria recently.
According to Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the body was burnt beyond recognition.
“A badly burnt body of a man believed to be on his late 20s early 30s was discovered by a passerby. It is alleged last Monday the police received a call of a dead person spotted in the veld.
They proceeded there only to make a gruesome discovery, that of a man lying on his back burnt beyond recognition.
“There also were some empty cartridges next to the body. The man is unknown at this stage. A case of murder is being investigated and the motive for the killing is unknown.”
