WANTED: Armed and dangerous robbery suspects

Identikits of three suspects released.

Bekkersdal Police have released three identikits of suspects involved in a number of house and business robberies.

Some of them is deemed to be armed and dangerous. ID kits of the three suspects can be seen far below.

In one of the incidents, a man is believed to be one of the suspects involved in a business and house robbery around Bekkersdal.

“It is alleged at around 10.30pm on the 5th of January, the victim was sitting inside her house with her friend. The door was closed but not locked. Suddenly they saw two men unknown to both of them entering the house. One was wearing a balaclava and armed with a firearm. One was not armed and he did not cover his face.

“They demanded money and cellphones and as they were searching, they took two cellphones and the car keys that was left on the table and drove off with a Kia Picanto belonging to the victim. The victim was able to identify one of the suspects by means of an identity kit,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.

The suspect is deemed to be armed and dangerous. and anyone with information that could lead to his arrest may contact D/Sgt Oageng of local detectives on 011 755 0006 OR 072 561 9417.

In a separate incident, the police are looking for two suspects after they entered a business and robbed the owner of an undisclosed amount of money.

The incident took place at around 11.30pm on the 17th of December 2015.

“It is alleged the owner was inside the office when two men barged in pointing the firearm at his co-worker demanding him to corporate and demanded money. He showed them where the money was and they took the money as well as two of his cellphones and left. The victim could identify them by means of an identity kit,” said Lefakane.
