Dr. Chris Ayres completed his honours degree at the University of Pretoria. His masters of education and doctorate of education was completed at Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) which is now known as the University of Johannesburg (UJ).

Ayres has been teaching since 1979. He started his teaching career at Middelburg Technical High School. Ayres later went on to teach at Krugersdorp College from 1981 until 1993.

In April 1993 he became the rector of Westcol Randfontein and served there until 2003. After leaving Westcol he later became the principal of a newly established private TVET college known as Aranda Learnership College in 2008.

At the end of August, 2015 Areys retired but re-entered the teaching world in 2016 as the new principal of RCA.

“The RCA school is a new challenge for me in taking RCA forward in order to become a private school of choice in the greater Randfontein,” he said.
