Woman stabbed to death in domestic dispute

Community members then beat suspect to death.

A recent domestic quarrel tragically left a couple dead in the Madala Hostels.

“At around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 29 December police members were called to an incident where a 40-year-old man was lying in a pool of blood in an access road to the hostel.

“It was alleged the man was badly beaten and stoned to death by members of the community. The man allegedly was a resident in the hostel. Police members started investigating on the scene and the rumour was the victim was involved in a domestic dispute,” said Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson.

The investigation then revealed the man allegedly stabbed his life partner, a 30-year-old woman the previous evening during a domestic quarrel.

The injured woman was transported to a local hospital where she then allegedly passed away during the early hours of 29 December. The police were not called to the assault of the female.

Police investigators went to a local hospital and found the allegations were indeed true. The woman victim succumbed to her injuries sustained during the stabbing. Another case of murder was opened.

Police management again urges the Randfontein residents to refrain from taking the law in their own hands. Domestic issues can also be resolved without acts of violence. No amount of reasoning will justify any murder.
