Man killed after stabbing another man’s wife

Police: The husband tried to stop him from hurting his wife.

A man who stabbed a woman for not being able to pay her loan money received a taste of his own medicine when her elderly husband stabbed and killed him.

“It is alleged that on Thursday, 7 January the deceased went to collect his money from the suspect’s wife. The wife then informed him that she had no money and that her husband was planning to sell his car in order for her to pay,” said Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Linkie Lefakane.

Lefakane added that the deceased became aggressive and took a knife and stabbed the wife twice. She said the husband tried to stop him from hurting his wife after which he wanted to stab the husband as well.

“The husband took a knife on top of the table and stabbed the deceased once in the chest. He was rushed to Bekkersdal Clinic and upon arrival was transferred to Leratong Hospital,” said Lefakane.

The man died on his way to the hospital and the husband was later arrested and will be charged with murder.
