Cops need help with murder case

Man in his late 30s dies from a stab wound two weeks before Christmas.

Police are looking for assistance in a case where a man was stabbed and later died from a stab wound.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, the man was stabbed in October and died on Friday, 11 December.

“At about 12.30pm that Friday, the Randfontein Police crime office was called to Leratong Hospital regarding a death of a man.

“The victim was in hospital since the assault and the incident was never reported to the police. The body was removed for the necessary post-mortem investigation and the members interviewed the victim’s family.”

Ernst added it was alleged the 37-year-old man was stabbed at his home in the Fourways squatter camp in Aureus.

Investigating officer, Karen Nel can be contacted with any information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect(s) in the case.

Nel urges members of the public to immediately report incidents such as these considering that time lapse in a case has a negative impact on the investigation and the scene of the crime as the latter has been already been contaminated.

Valuable leads might now be forever lost,” said Ernst.

Nel can be contacted on 011 278 8100.
