Christmas eve accident leaves six injured

Six people were injured when a motor vehicle and a taxi collided at the corner of Edward Street and the R28 in Westonaria on Thursday night.

It is believed the car was travelling from Simunye towards Westonaria and the taxi was travelling on the R28 towards Randfontein when the taxi went down a small embankment.

Emergency services, which included ER24 found one woman sitting in the taxi and the other passengers walking around on the small embankment where the taxi came to a standstill.

All patients were assessed and were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the car also was injured.

The cause of the accident is the subject of an investigation.
