Brightly Minds closes for the festive season

Aftercare, that teaches children to read, closes for the festive season.

Brightly Minds Aftercare in Toekomsrus had their end of year function to rest up and tackle the new year with a fresh mindset.

Wow, what an impact this made for our 20 children after getting donations from parents and public for our end of year party,” Jackie Payne, founder of the aftercare said.

The aftercare has been going since 2013 after a concerned Jackie found children in Toekomsrus unable to do their homework because they could not read.

“We have some under-privileged children and are running the institute without funds,” Jackie said.

Their end of year party was sponsored by parents of children who go to the aftercare to do homework and learn to read.

Jackie said that the children are looking forward to the break and that she looks forward for tackling challenges in the new year.
