Disabled children get a treat

Rainbow Daycare children treated on International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Children from Rainbow Daycare Centre, a haven for disabled children, were treated to a day of fun by softhearted residents.

The children were treated to a day out with food and party packs at Fantasy Farmyard in Wilbotsdal. The venue was given to the centre for the day for free.

Children had various activities to choose from – a bouncy house, a jungle gym, swings and a trampoline. Those who were able jetted up and down the premises with toy motorbikes.

The food and party packs were sponsored by Sunil and Saiuri Deenanath as well as Evanie and Geetha Devi. Christmas gifts were sponsored by the St Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Last year, the St Anothony’s saints also spoiled Rainbow Daycare children rotten just days before Christmas.

The day of fun in the sun was held on International Day of Persons with Disabilities which has been commemorated since 1992. This year’s theme was; Inclusion Matters: Access and Empowerment for People of all Abilities.
