Carols by Glow Sticks a huge success

Pastor: This was a very good way of starting the festive season.

The Randfontein Baptist church held their unique Carols by Glow sticks event during their evening service on Sunday.

After much preparation and practising, members of the church, the congregation as well as residents of Randfontein gathered together for the start of the evening.

The church was decorated creatively on the in and outside while everyone in attendance were given a glow stick. The praise and worship team started off the evening with Christmas carols carefully chosen and beautifully performed.

The children played a huge part in this event as the Kids For Christ (juniors) and Never to Young (seniors) took part in various performances.

They performed the birth of Jesus and incorporated the modern world in it where people did not understand the full dynamics of Jesus’ birth and what it meant to the world. The children gave their best in these performances and made this evening extra special.

After that, everybody joined in singing Christmas carols while swaying their glow sticks from side to side. This also added to the festive but yet sacred atmosphere of the event.

Pastor Brett Smitsdorff then brought his message to the congregation saying “Jesus is our Emmanuel. God will strengthen us in any challenge.”

After this beautiful message, everybody was treated to tasty snacks and treats.

Pastor Brett added, “We want to thank everybody who helped us make this evening a great success and also the community for their support and attendance.

This was a very good way of starting the festive season in showing what the true meaning of Christmas is.”
