Township economy gets a boost

No more spending loads of money on travel for shopping.

Mohlakeng residents no longer have to spend money on transport to buy their everyday necessities as a new shopping mall has been erected in the heart of Mohlakeng.

Some Mohlakeng residents take public transport to and from the area to get their shopping done. Some of these residents are elderly and the travel is taxing on them.

After the shopping is done, residents then have to cart their grocery bags back home in a taxi, on the train or on foot but all of that is a thing of the past. The shopping boasts a well-known grocery store, a DIY store, clothing store and a home industry shop.

Apart from having the convenience of getting the shopping done for the week or month, there are also various ATMs in the centre as well as a South Africa Social Security Agency (Sasa) office and an EasyPay office which will take the headache out of financial transactions.

The centre marks a stride in the economy of Mohlakeng and by extension Randfontein.

Developers André and Manny Nunes were glad they could finish the project on time as well as give back to the community by making shopping that much closer and easier for residents of Mohlakeng.

They would also like to wish everyone who played a part in the erection of the mall as well as its customers a wonderful festive season and new year.
