Explosives found in tenant’s room

The items are believed to belong to a mine employee who was dismissed from a local mining company.

The eviction of a tenant in Mohlakeng led to the recovery of explosives, Randfontein Police said.

It is alleged by the homeowner he evicted a tenant from one of his rooms and that they were busy removing the tenant’s property. The homeowner was surprised to find explosives in one of the containers in the room. He immediately called the Police.

The members arrived and the explosive devices were removed by an expert at the Explosives Unit. The items are believed to belong to a mine employee who was dismissed from a local mining company.

The Randfontein Police are investigating the matter.
