New RHS executive committee announced

Meet the six RCL executives with their separate unique attributes and what motivates them in life.

Randfontein High School‘s executive committee has been announced after a process of nominations, elections, a week long camp in Durban and campaigning.

Grade 11 pupils were nominated after they accumulated sufficient points by partaking and excelling in academics, sports and culture.

The Representative Council of Learners (RCL), consisted of 43 pupils, who in turn voted for the six RCL executives. They made use of a digital voting system and RHS is proud to have implemented democratic voting.

Heading these executives is Amanda Jankowitz (RCL manager), Rodney Nimmo (liasson’s officer) and Jason Fischer, 2016, grade 12 manager.

Nimmo said each of these pupils have a certain dynamic that in turn makes this years executive council a great team that will set a good foundation and example for other RHS pupils.

These are the six RCL executives with their separate unique attributes and what motivates them in life:

1. Obakeng Seageng (chairman) – He describes himself as the decision maker and the Gorden Institute of Business Science motivated him to get this far.

2. Cantona James (head boy) – He describes one of his strongest attributes that of being influential and his father is his greatest motivator, for being such a great community leader and doing so much for other people.

3. Ramasela Mashatola (head girl) – She describes herself as headstrong but has the patience and ability to understand different point of views and reasonings. Her motivator is definitely her mother and the belief that a person can always do better. Her faith in God is also a very important foundation.

4. Jamie Phiri (executive council) – Jamie describes herself as a realist who loves challenges. Her motivation lays in the sentence, “Success comes from knowing what you want, and knowing what it takes to realise it. “

5. Pearl Mabuela (executive council) – She says she is the patient, silent one who is a peacemaker. Her motivator is Doctor David Molapo who’s ambition touched her and taught her that if you want something, you must go for it.

6. Tshepo Mofokeng (executive council) – He says he is the dreamer and likes thinking outside the box. The Wits Debating Union’s Jamie Mighti is his motivator because he taught him that there are always room to improve yourself.

This executive council wants to be the representation of effective leadership and wants to make a noticeable change.

They want pupils to know that there are ample opportunities for every pupil to grow their specific talent.

This dynamic team will surely stop at nothing to reach their dreams for RHS and for themselves personally.
