Not even your rusks are safe …

Police: The suspects overpowered a man to steal Ouma Rusks.

A 47-year-old security officer was overpowered at a warehouse in Aureus after which an unknown number of suspects stole Ouma Rusks.

The robbery took place on Sunday (8 November) at approximately 7:45pm . According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, “It is alleged the victim was patrolling the business premises when he was overpowered by an unknown suspect. He was taken to a room where he was held and more suspects joined the initial suspect.

The suspects allegedly then entered the warehouse and loaded numerous pallets of Ouma Rusks onto trucks and drove off,” she said.

In the week after the incident, some of the stolen rusks were recovered in the East Rand and two suspects were arrested for the possession of the stolen rusks.

Warrant officer Bongani Mpete, one of Randfontein’s finest is investigating the matter.
