Mother, teen daughter hijacked

Hijackers take victims all the way to Olievenhoutbosch.

A 49-year-old mother and her teenage daughter were hijacked just as they arrived home in Randpoort.

Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for Randfontein Police confirmed, “It is alleged the victims arrived home and parked in the garage when they suddenly were aggressively approached by two armed male suspects.

The one suspect then forced the mother to the passenger seat and the other armed suspect pointed at her daughter. They were then taken towards Olievenhoutbosch where they were dropped off.

“The victims were robbed of personal belongings and cash. They also forced the victim to give them her bank pin number. Money was withdrawn from the victim’s account shortly after they were dropped off. The suspects also took the vehicle, a Grey E class Mercedes Benz with registration number CP14THGP.”

The victims did not sustain any serious injuries during their ordeal.

The case is investigated by Protea Glen Vehicle Theft unit. Any information pertaining to this case, can be communicated to the SAPS Crime line on 08600 10111.
