RPA ends year Ninja style

RPA and members end the year 2015 with an informal and fun networking session.

The Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) held its very last networking event for the year last Friday.

The event was held at Forever Young Antiques.

“A big thank you goes to Susan Jordaan and her team for the great venue and homely atmosphere they created amongst all the beautiful antiques and pieces of retro furniture. Thanks also goes to Michael Grobler from Pest Control for sponsoring the delicious eats and drinks,” said Joy Hamann, Publicity Officer for the RPA.

The RPA also wants to thank all those who joined in the spirit of the theme – green and red (but mostly red). Some of the men who did not wear red or green attire had to join the Randfontein Ninjas and wear a piece of red ribbon around their heads.

Hessel van der Walt from Aksie vir Christus won the Best Dressed Prize who looked very elegant in his red bow tie, red shirt, red and white suspenders and Christmas pocket handkerchief.

Joy Hamann, Marcelle Mans and Susan Jordaan from Forever Young Antiques.

Magriet van der Hoven from Elite Needle Craft was presented with a prize for her ongoing knitting projects for charity. Her current project is knitted Teddy Bears that will be donated to the Carryou Ministry Elandsvlei Drop-In Centre Crèche in December. Magriet is also the brains behind the annual RPA Knit-A-Thon.

Joy added,

We learned quite a lot about some of the members with the Did You Know session where they had to share something about themselves – but don’t worry, whatever was revealed will remain our secret!

“Members did, however, not have to do the RPA’s famous 60-seconds-intro but I gave a quick run-down of each member’s business (only those present), just so we fulfilled the network aspect of the evening.

“From our side, I think we kept our promise to keep the evening light, informal, with no serious stuff and lots of fun and laughter. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves.”

The next networking function will take place in 2016, on Thursday 28 January.
