Outnumbered criminal nabbed

'If they hadn't gotten here so quickly then I would have had to buy new household items.'

A Homelake resident took matters into his own hands when he found his house was being broken into.

Marcus Thangoane, security head and firefighter at Nola went home one afternoon around 1pm only to find his garage door open.

There was just something off when I reached home that afternoon. The garage door was open and it looked like someone was there.”

Thangoane said he noticed that someone was inside his home. He said he immediately called Piquant Security and the Randfontein Police and while he awaited their arrival, a suspect came out of his home.

“The man came out but I was standing outside with a iron rod in my hand and the man ran back into the house.”

He said within approximately 10 minutes Piquant arrived on scene with a plan. They went to the back door and Thangoane stood in the front. It wasn’t long before the suspect in the house was apprehended.

“I’m not sure if the man was working with others but we only arrested one person,” he said.

Thangoane then claims the police arrived where the suspect was arrested and taken to the police station.

I’m glad that everything happened so quickly. I got help immediately. Piquant was very fast and so was the police. They took the suspect and within 30 minutes I received an SMS with a case number.”

Thangoane would like to thank Piquant and the Randfontein Police for their quick response.

“If they hadn’t gotten here so quickly then I would have had to buy new household items.”
