Balaclava-wearing men target shop

Police: The victims were forced to lie down on the floor.

Three balaclava-wearing men, one of them armed, are still at large after they targeted a shop in Toekomsrus.

Captain Appel Ernst confirmed the incident occurred just before midnight on Sunday 25 October.

“It is alleged two victims, a 23-year-old man and his colleague, were conducting business when suddenly they were confronted by three unknown suspects all wearing balaclavas.

One of the suspects pointed the firearm at the victims and demanded the security door be opened. The victims were forced to lie down on the floor and the suspects took cellphones and cash from the shop. The suspects then fled the scene.

“No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained.”
