Cansa all-night relay coming soon

Cancer Association of South Africa calls on the community to enter a team.

The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) will be hosting the Relay For Life fundraising event in Randfontein on Friday 27 November.

The event will be held at the Greenhills Stadium, where it will start at 6pm until 6am the next morning. The theme will be Kaleidoscope of Colours. This event is hosted across the globe and has been running since 1984.

Cansa Relay For Life is a community-driven all-night event where the community enters teams with 10 to 15 members at R750 per team. At the night of the relay a stand will be allocated to the team at the stadium where they can camp until dawn the following day. They will be given the opportunity to raise funds for Cansa.

After the ceremonial sessions and after honouring the cancer survivors, various famous and upcoming artists will keep everyone entertained throughout the night.

On the track one member of each team will be either running or walking around the track all through the night, acknowledging the fact that cancer never sleeps.

The main focus will be on the more or less 100 attending cancer survivors who will be the guests of honour.

Raising funds and community involvement in Randfontein is imperative for Cansa to deliver these services to cancer patients in Randfontein and surrounding areas. They desperately need medical assistance.

Getting sponsors for the Relay For Life is extremely important as Cansa’s aim is to raise as much funds with the minimum expense so they could allocate the funds to where it is needed in the region.
