Elderly woman rolls car

Her family travelling in the vehicle in front of her immediately stopped.

An elderly woman, said to be 67, rolled her car on the R28 on Friday morning and escaped with minor injuries.

The accident took place at around 9.30am. The Randfontein Fire Brigade was first on the scene followed by Netcare 911. Quick Response Services (QRS) also assisted.

It is believed the woman was driving behind her family when she lost control of the vehicle, which ended up on the side of the road. Her family travelling in the vehicle in front of her immediately stopped.

The woman is in a stable condition but she was complaining of backache,” said Bradley Smith, owner of QRS.

A helicopter airlifted the woman to Netcare Milpark Hospital for further medical care.
