Estate agents tee off for charity

Four R'fontein primary schools to reap the benefits of the golf day.

The Randfontein Listing Services (RLS) spent last Friday afternoon away from the office on the golf course to raise funds for four Randfontein primary schools.

The RLS is a group of well-known real estate companies working together in Randfontein. This includes Aida, Entin Estates, M&M properties, Nashet, Tess Eiendomme, Polomino Eiendomme, Propfind, Randfontein Eiendomme, Realty1 and Roy Harris Estates.

These passionate estate agents do a substantial amount of charity work in Randfontein. They regularly donate food parcels to four primary schools in town namely, Randfontein Primary, Laerskool Randfontein, West Gold Primary and Laerskool Rapportryer.

What the RLS does is host an annual golf day and get all the companies which fall under the umbrella to club in as well as members of the public and other well-known businessmen and women.

The funds from the event is then donated to the four respective schools.

This year the funding will work differently, Martin Deysel chairperson for the RLS told the Herald.

This year we’re not going to hand out food hampers for the children because we want the donation to be specifically for the pupil and not just for the family unit. This year we’re going to donate money to each school for them to identify needy pupils and buy them what they need,” he said.

After last year’s golf day, the RLS could supply the four schools with 10 food hampers worth R750 each which brought last year’s project to a total of R30 000.

This year’s golf day proved to be another success as the course was busy with golfers dressed in their golfing best and taking practice swings before letting the ball rip to the next hole.

The Randfontein Golf Club was a hive of laughter and chatter and gazebos were erected in just about any space that would allow the colourful tents with each company’s logos on it.
