A head-on collision between a bakkie and a light motor vehicle on the N12 in Westonaria lead to the death of a man on Sunday.

ER24 paramedics responded to the collision and found a horribly crashed bakkie laying in the middle of the road while the light motor vehicle was found stationary on the side of the road.
When paramedics tended to the patients in the bakkie they found a man had already succumbed to his injuries and a critically injured woman trapped inside the bakkie.
In the light motor vehicle paramedics also found an injured man.
The critically injured woman was freed by rescue services with the jaws of life after which she was taken to Carletonville Hospital for further medical attention along with the injured man from the light motor vehicle.
Rescue services later used the jaws of life to free the lifeless body of the man in the bakkie.
