Five break-ins in 10 months

This time around they stole camping chairs, camping equipment and newly replaced tools.

Just when Nicolene and Tinus Stoop’s story about the break-ins at their home in Village Street hit the press, another incident occurred this past Saturday (17 October).

The Herald‘s original article about their woes will only appear in tomorrows edition but their home in Village Street was yet again targeted and this time the value of the stolen goods was over and above R20 000.

In the previous incidents they stole his tools and broke into his car. This time around they stole camping chairs, camping equipment and newly replaced tools.

At approximately 11.30am that day, the couple went to go do shopping. On their return they carried the groceries into the house and Tinus then took the dog outside.

He then saw the side gate was open and spotted deep trolley tracks. The trolley the criminals used to pack the stolen goods into, was also the Stoop’s. They immediately noticed all the items that was stolen and phoned the police.

According to them, the police allegedly only arrived on the scene at about 7pm that day.

Tinus welded the windows and gate closed and if not for that they would have been burgled twice that day as the criminals attempted to gain access again that night. As previously reported, Nicolene’s health has deteriorated, as she now learned that she has heart and kidney failure.

The Stoops think this is the same group that burgled their home in these 10 months.

Tinus says,

Once again they broke in for the tools.”

Niclolene says, ” When we stayed on the farm, we never had any problems like this. Now we have to spend extra money on our safety.”

Tinus was fuming when he told the Herald, “I will catch this suspect. I will!”
