Bomb scare at Village Square Mall

'The threat was found to be unfounded' – Police.

There was alleged panic at Village Square Mall on Monday following an alleged bomb scare at Checkers.

Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police confirmed the incident but called the threat unfounded.

There was a bomb threat complaint at the Village Square Mall Checkers at approximately 11am. The K9 unit and other experts were summoned and the threat was found to be unfounded. The Randfontein Police are investigating the matter.”

The Village Square Mall management was approached for comment but to no avail.
