Police acted swiftly and arrested two men aged 25 years after they robbed a person of his plasma television inside his home.
According to Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Linkie Lefakane, “It is alleged that on Friday at about 9.05 in the morning, the victim was home alone when he heard someone calling from the gate.
“He went look and found a man standing by his gate. Another was inside the vehicle, a white Yaris. The man asked him where his parents were, he said they were not home. One of them pretended to make a call and they both walked inside the yard.
Inside the house he took out a twenty rand note and requested the victim to go buy him airtime. The victim went to his bedroom to put his shoes on and when he walked back at the lounge, the suspect pulled out a firearm, pointed at him and the suspect that was left outside came in, took the Plasma TV and they both went out.
“The victim ran after the car shouting for help and with the help from the neighbours,The Police were contacted and a look out from the Westonaria Police with full details of the vehicle was given. The police spotted a car driving direction Vereeniging in a high speed, they stopped the car and the two suspects were found in Possession of the Plasma, they were both arrested.”
They will be charged with House Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property and are expected to appear before Westonaria Magistrate court on Monday.
