Chaos as car collides with street pole

Two people injured – West Rand Emergency Services.

At least two people were injured after two vehicles were involved in an accident on the R28 heading towards Krugersdorp at about 7am on Wednesday.

Witnesses said the one vehicle, a silver Fiat, was driving on the left side of the road and then allegedly bumped into a white Hillux bakkie. The bakkie then crashed into a street pole after which it toppled over onto the bakkie. The driver of the bakkie is a 21-year-old man and the woman driver is said to be in her early 50s.

Mogale City Traffic Department, Powergate Tow Trucking and the West Rand Emergency Services were on scene.

The driver of the bakkie is in a severe state of shock, but both drivers are in a stable condition. The driver of the bakkie will be taken to Robinson Hospital and the woman – a nurse at Yusuf Dadoo Hospital – will be taken to Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp,” Diane Manthato, a paramedic from West Rand Emergency Services said.
