R’fontein pupils learn about different careers

'It' s nice to teach them that the army is not just about war' - SANDF

The South African Defence Force (SADF) and several other organizations, educate pupils on career choices for Women’s Month last week Friday.

Several schools participated, and the pupils were very eager to ask questions. Some of the schools were Phahama Secondary, AB Phokompe, Thuto Lehakwe and Barachel Christian Academ.

Sergeant KJ Gobe from the SADF, explained the different departments in the SADF; the navy, air force, army and medics to learners.

Corporal Siho Lukhele said,

It is nice to educate these pupils, and to teach them that the army is not just about war.”

Randfontein Private Hospital told the pupils about the different careers that can pursued the medical field and Randfontein Traffic Department showed the pupils exactly how their speed trap cameras work.

The day proved to be very informative for the pupils, and when they left there, they were well informed about the different choices they have for a successful career.
