Elderly couple attacked in home

One of the suspects was later handed to the police for detention.

An elderly couple were held up in their home at knife-point by three suspects and sustained injuries following the incident.

The incident took place in Greenhills on Friday (21 August) in the late afternoon at approximately 5.45pm.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police,

The suspects allegedly attacked the couple and injuries were sustained by the complainant. An officer from a local security company confronted one of the suspects and the suspect was later handed to the police for detention.”

An investigation team lead by Lt Col Gert Kruger made an additional two arrests in the early hours of the following Monday and were able to recover numerous articles from the suspects. The suspects were positively linked to the house robbery but police believe they might have been involved in various other cases as well.
