Two students injured in crash

One student is in a critical condition — ER24.

Two people were injured in a collision on the R54 and R500 intersection near Carletonville on Saturday night over the weekend.

The collision occurred approximately 20km outside Carletonville.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Pieter Rossouw, “Both occupants were 21-year-old students.

Their injuries ranged from critical to moderate. Paramedics treated and transported one patient to Mediclinic Vereeniging for further treatment. The other patient was transported by other services to the same hospital.”

The cause of the incident remains unknown; however local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
