Three areas to receive wheelie bins

Municipality plans to modernise and standardise R'fontein refuse removal services.

The Randfontein Local Municipality will be giving residents of Eikepark, Helikon Park and Culemborg Park wheelie bins.

The initiative is to modernise and standardise Randfontein’s refuse removal services. Randfontein residents always had to gather their refuse in black bags and leave them outside their houses but the wheelie bins will make that a task of the past,” Tshidiso Tlharipe, spokesperson for the Randfontein Executive Mayor said.

The mass roll-out of wheelie bins will take place on Saturday (22 August) and property owners or persons collecting bins on behalf of property owners are required to bring their identity documents, and their Randfontein municipal rates and taxes account. Tlharipe also stated the refuse-removal schedule will remain the same.

The handout and collections will be done at the public places listed below and all residents need to do is show up, provide the supporting documentation and be the owner of a new wheelie bin.

Collections:

• Eikepark – corner of Arend Drive and Kiewiet Street from 9am to 4pm

• Helikon Park – corner of Arend Drive and Kiewiet Street from 9am to 4pm

• Culemborg Park – public park along Constantia Street from 9am to 4pm

Enquiries may be directed to 011 411 0387 between 7.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
