Private testing station smiling all the way
Private testing station in R'fontein now gets all the clients.
The saying ‘One man’s death is another man’s breath’ applies to the Carletonville testing station.
This testing station has come under the spotlight after it was reported that motorists are being turned away due to faulty equipment. They travel to Randfontein instead and make use of a private testing station there.
The owner benefiting is Jakes Jacobs who explained to the Herald,
There is a huge increase in motorists coming from the Carletonville area. Most of them are very unhappy about the inconvenience of travelling to Randfontein.”
According to Jacobs the testing station has been running for the last 19 years. Every year the SABS and a calibration company visit test stations to ensure that all equipment is in good order and 100 per cent functional.
