Suspected burglars stopped in their tracks

Security company lauds reaction officers for a job well done.

At least three suspects were arrested thanks to the brave and sharp efforts of EPR Security reaction officers following a burglary in Randpoort on Thursday 13 August.

Randfontein Police Captain Appel Ernst confirmed the incident.

The suspects could face charges of being in possession of stolen property and house breaking.”

It’s said EPR arrived at the scene of the burglary just as four suspects were leaving a client’s premises in Bartlett Street in their vehicle.

Johan Krogh, EPR Randfontein general manager confirmed, “At approximately 1.38pm, EPR Security received an alarm signal from the client. Upon arrival reaction officer Derrick Smith noticed a white Nissan Sani leaving the premises. He inspected the premises and noticed the front safety and sliding doors had been forced open.

“After a look-out was sent over the EPR two-way radio network the vehicle was spotted at the corner of Finsbury Road and Condor Avenue near Lafarge and followed. The four suspects jumped out and ran into the veld.

Additional EPR reaction units arrived on the scene and within minutes three of the suspects were arrested after being chased by reaction officers Shaun McGee, Gawie Gouws and Steven van Niekerk. The vehicle and stolen property were recovered. Everything was handed over to the police for further investigation.”

EPR management congratulate their reaction officers for a job well done and their continued hard work, making Randfontein a safer place to live in.
