Side-impact crash leaves four injured

A minibus and light utility vehicle were involved – Netcare 911.

Four people were injured during an accident on Ventersdorp Road in Potchefstroom on Wednesday morning.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, “Paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus and light utility vehicle were involved in a side impact crash. The minibus came to a standstill in the roadway, while the light utility vehicle came to a standstill at the side of the road.

Traffic was severely affected as a result of the crash. Upon assessment of the occupants from both vehicles, paramedics found that four people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

“The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care and treatment.”

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
