The stars descend on Silverstar

Die Sterre Afrikaans music festival to be a night to remember - Silverstar.

Silverstar, the number-one entertainment destination on the West Rand, recently opened ticket sales for yet another fantastic entertainment experience – Die Sterre – an Afrikaans music festival that offers guests the opportunity to see well-known and rising stars all on one stage!

The eagerly awaited Afrikaans music festival, which will take place on 15 and 16 August at Silverstar’s The Globe events arena, will be a mix of individual music and collaborative melodies from some of SA’s top artists such as Kurt Darren, Bobby and Karlien van Jaarsveld, Joseph Clark, Jay and Charlize Berg.

We are thrilled to announce our plans to host a music festival of this nature on our property. Visitors can expect the event to be a unique feel-good experience from start to finish,” said Shane Collinson, director of operations and complex general manager at Silverstar.

The casino has been working closely with acclaimed music director Matthys Maree who has contributed to the South African music industry since 1995.

Maree has worked on events such as seven Gospel Skouspel events in Cape Town and Johannesburg and has toured with various artists around the world.

More recently, he conceptualised the Afri-series of albums, which involves musicians, artists and studios from South Africa, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

We are looking forward to welcoming South African music fans to our property for what undoubtedly will be a night to remember!” said Shane.

Ticket prices range from R200 to R240 per person at Computicket or at Silverstar’s box office. For more information visit: www.silverstarcasino.co.za or call 011 662 7300.
