Man pulled over at gunpoint

Man in his 30s a victim of an unusual armed robbery.

A 31-year-old man recently was the victim of an unusual armed robbery in the Groenplaas area.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police “At approximately 5.35pm on Monday 27 July it is alleged the victim was driving in a company vehicle on his way from Magaliesburg when he was pulled over by occupants in a white VW Golf.

“It is further alleged that two men approached his vehicle, pointing at him with firearms.

The victim was pulled from the vehicle and the armed suspects searched him. The suspects robbed him of a substantial amount of cash and his cellular telephone.

“The victim reported the matter to the Randfontein police shortly after the incident.”

No injuries were sustained by the complainant during the incident.

The investigating officer, Warrant officer Karen Nel would appreciate any information regarding the incident. Any witness who might shed light on the incident, are requested to contact her on 011 278 8100.
