Fire truck tips over in serious crash

Collision between fire truck and light motor vehicle leaves at least three injured.

Three people allegedly were injured when a fire truck flipped over after it collided with a light motor vehicle on the R559 early on Thursday morning.

The driver of the vehicle believed to be a Toyota Tazz miraculously was unharmed.

The Herald was informed on scene a fire truck was on the R559 heading towards Vleikop when a red Tazz was driving in front of it. The motorist driving the Tazz was driving slowly and allegedly indicated to turn left. The fire truck then overtook the Tazz, thinking it was going to turn left.

The fire truck then collided with the Tazz where the truck ended up on it’s side facing the opposite way.

A tow truck company on scene said three men were travelling in the fire truck and one man in the Tazz.

All three occupants of the fire truck was then transported to hospital for further observation.
