Garage owner apologises

'This is the first time this has happened at my petrol station' – Owner.

The owner of the Sasol petrol station in Greenhills gave an explanation for the petrol pumps at his business not registering the reduced fuel price early on Wednesday morning (5 August).

It had motorists hot under the collar for not being able to benefit from the new price.

Owner Yusuf Hakim invited the Herald to his business and explained the computer server needed to be restarted to update the pumps to the new petrol price. By Wednesday afternoon, the pump meters were updated and no more problems were detected.

Hakim apologised for the inconvenience and said,

This is the first time this has happened at my petrol station.”

He invited motorists who had filled up their vehicles on Wednesday morning before the new price had been put into effect at his business to return to the Sasol garage with their receipts so that he can refund those who had paid the old, higher fuel price.
