‘Investigations into the accident are under way’.

An employee at Harmony’s Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville was killed in a rail-bound accident on Monday morning (3 August).

The company released an official statement saying, “Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (“Harmony”) regrets to advise an employee was injured fatally in a rail-bound accident at its Kusasalethu mine.

Investigations into the accident are under way and all tramming operations on the level where the accident occurred have been stopped.

“Harmony’s management team wish to express their deepest condolences to the members of the deceased’s family.”
