Pedestrian accident leaves man critical

The man was trying to cross the roadway – Netcare 911

A man is fighting for his life following a pedestrian accident on Tenth Road in Wheatlands, Randfontein on Monday.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, “Paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found a man, believed to be in his 30s, lying on the ground at the side of the roadway.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the man was trying to cross the roadway when he was knocked over by a utility vehicle.

Upon assessment of the man, paramedics found the man to have sustained life-threatening injuries during the accident. The critically injured man was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required, under the care of an advanced life support paramedic.”

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the pedestrian accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
