Criminals chickened out by police

Police stumble upon stolen truck, goods in Bekkersdal.

The community of Bekkersdal gathered in their numbers to watch Bekkersdal Police recover stolen goods on Thursday.

The stolen goods are believed to be the cargo of a truck that was stolen in Westonaria.

The truck was believed to be travelling to Alberton to drop off its load but was instead found in Bekkersdal at a tavern. Some of the cargo of the said truck were chicken pieces that were found in the storage space of the tavern.

The Bekkersdal Police which falls under the Carletonville Cluster were on the scene to investigate and found the chicken was loaded onto the truck once more.

The worth of the stolen goods is not yet known to the Herald nor is the whereabouts of the driver.
