Westcol treats the underprivileged

Children were treated to gifts, food, clothes and entertainment.

Westcol Randfontein campus recently brightened the day of orphans and underprivileged children in the greater Randfontein area.

The entire Westcol SSS hall was filled with underprivileged children. The event took place on Saturday (25 July).

Staff members and students waited and foot on the children to make them feel extra special. The day was part of Westcol’s community engagement projects where they give back to the community.

Westcol identified the needy children and orphans in the area and carted them to the college. On the day children were treated to food, clothing, gifts and entertainment. A jumping castle was made available to the children for play time after the formalities of the event.

Children sat with their party hats and bobbed their heads to the music that Westcol organised for the day. The children could not keep their eyes off the drummer and keyboard player and mimicked their movements on their tables and chairs.

The formalities were started with the two MCs one of which was dressed in a cow outfit. This was followed by a talk from a pastor involved with ministry on the Westcol campus who spoke about what was said in the Bible about children.

The Miss Toekomsrus 2nd princess, Gillian Malgas and Miss Toekomsrus 1st princess, Robin Patrick attended the event as they are students at the college and gave a talk to the children and staff who attended.
