Man hit and killed by truck

Pedestrian accident leaves man dead.

A man in his 30s was killed when he was hit by a delivery truck at the Annon and Odmium Road intersection in Carletonville on Tuesday.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, “Paramedics were patrolling the area when they were alerted to the scene.

“On their arrival, paramedics found the lifeless body of the patient lying in the middle of the road. On assessment, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead.

“The driver of the truck fortunately did not sustain any injuries.”

The circumstances surrounding the incident or not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
