West Rand bike crash leaves man critical

'The motorcyclist was lying on the roadway after he came off his motorcycle.'

A man was critically injured during an accident in Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort on the West Rand in the early morning hours Sunday.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, “Paramedics and provincial services arrived at the scene and found a motorcyclist lying on the roadway after he came off his motorcycle.

Upon assessment of the thirty-two-year-old man, paramedics found that the man sustained critical injuries during the crash.

“The Netcare 911 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.

“Exact detail surrounding the cause of the motorcycle crash and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.”

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
