Club furious with football association

RLFA allegedly decides to hand league title to another team.

Enrico Bhana and Graham Rooskrans from 2Keys United Football Club told the Herald of their struggle to prove that their title as league winners is well deserved.

Bhana, a player and coach of 2Keys Football Club said, “We were playing in the Randfontein Local Football League for the season June 2014 to June 2015 and according to our records of the whole season we have won the league fair and square. According to the Local Football Associations books, we suffered five losses, which is totally wrong.

We have proof that we only had three losses, signed by both the captains and referee.”

Bhana continued, “The Randfontein Local Football Association (RLFA) must show us proof that we indeed lost five matches during the season. The RLFA sent us the final log standings and even on that log it shows a discrepancy from their side because the numbers simply do not add up.

“We have filed a complaint with the RLFA and they referred us to the South African Football Association (SAFA) West Rand regional office, but they can not help us either. They say we now have to pay a R20 000 fee for a disciplinary hearing, which will be overseen by arbitrators. This is not fair towards us because we are an amateur team and we do not have the funds.

We didn’t do anything wrong; all we ask from Safa is to oversee the process. We are speaking out as this is not the first time such an incident occurred. In the past three years teams have been crying foul against the current executives that are running the RLFA from the boot of there cars. This is unacceptable to the 2Keys United FC.

“We as 2Keys United FC have a responsibility to our community to give our players and supporters hope. What transpired here is totally unfair and blatant corruption from the RLFA. We want the culprits to be identified and face criminal charges because our hands are tied by a ruling that is not fair to amateur-level teams.”

2Keys United FC says no to corruption and nepotism. We have boys as young as 12 who a month ago were celebrating for winning the league. All of a sudden we as management must tell these youngsters that the RLFA had decided to hand the league title to another team.”

The Herald contacted Safa’s chairperson and he said he would refer the matter to RLFA’s chairperson, who to date, has not commented on this matter.
