A 17-year-old man is in a critical condition after a collision between a motorbike and light motor vehicle on Springhaas Road in Roodepoort on the West Rand on Monday.
According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, “Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg West branch, along with other services, responded to the scene, and on their arrival, found the male patient lying in one of the lanes near the traffic lights.
“On assessment of the patient, paramedics found that the patient had sustained injuries to his head and arm, and was in a critical condition.
“Paramedics treated the patient as well as provided him with advanced life support. Once treated, he was transported by ambulance to Helen Joseph Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
“The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.”
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
