A 19-year-old woman was left in a critical condition after her vehicle overturned on the R54 approximately 10km outside of Potchefstroom on Saturday.
According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, “At approximately 11.40am paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a vehicle lying on its side in an open veld next to the road.
Upon further assessment they [paramedics] found that the woman was still trapped inside of her vehicle. The local fire service quickly stabilised the vehicle in order for paramedics to extricate her from the vehicle.
“She was found with multiple injuries and the ER24 medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift her to Mediclinic Sandton for further treatment.”
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
