Driver entrapped in crash

‘Authorities are currently on scene working towards extricating the person and clearing the wreckage.’

A truck driver is in shock following a collision between the truck he was driving and a car on the N12 about 20 km out of Potchefstroom on Monday morning.

According to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing, “When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found the severely damaged car wedged under the tanker.

“The truck driver was assessed and needed to be transported to hospital for observation. ER24 paramedics transported him to hospital. One person was found to be entrapped in the car.

“Fire and Rescue Services as well as other authorities are currently on scene working towards extricating the person and clearing the wreckage.”

Further details about the person in the car have not been confirmed yet. Update to follow.
