Motorist shot at on his way to work

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.

Randfontein Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a motorist was allegedly shot at by another motorist on Brandvlei Road around 7am on Friday 19 June.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, “A 37-year-old man was travelling in his vehicle towards his workplace when a white Bantam bakkie appeared next to his car on the road. Someone from the bakkie fired shots at the victim.

“The victim’s vehicle was hit by a bullet, which shattered the driver’s window and the windscreen,” she said.

Fortunately the victim was not injured during the incident.

The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Karen Nel urges any person who might have witnessed the incident to contact her on 011 278 8100.
