In the spirit of Youth Day, Randfontein Police together with the Randfontein Local Municipality, CPF, Thusanang Adventures, Gauteng province and Westview Clinic hosted a youth debate about the ills lurking in a school environment.
The event was held a day before national Youth Day at the Mohlakeng Ramose Hall.
The aim of the debate was to raise awareness about drug and alcohol abuse in the community, focusing on high schools. The target audience selected was troublesome and pupils suspected of substance abuse.
Many schools in the greater Randfontein were represented but yet again the prestigious debate school, Randfontein High School (RHS) took first prize and wowed even the officials at the event with their eloquent speeches, points made, and lawyer-like objections.
